Does your GPA, CV, LOI, and pretty much everything the programs used to invite a candidate for an interview factor into how you are ranked by the programs or does everyone kind of start with a blank slate and is ranked solely on how they did at the interview?

yes. but if you're really personable, and it feels like you would mesh well with the preceptor faculty, then this could bolster your application and your ranking at the end

Definitely still plays a role, phorcas essentially uses a point system, and all factors of your application as well as your interview are included in your overall score.

BUT honestly most of those factors will be deemed comparable between candidates the day of the interview -- honestly there are so many good candidates out there who don't even get interviews. Think of it as the cv and letters and whatnot is what got you in the door, but the interview is what seals the deal. it's all about if they feel you would fit well in their program.

We mainly wipe the slate clean. The purpose of the GPA, CV, and LOI is to get you an interview.

Your application is to prove you’re qualified for the position, but your interview is to prove you’re a good fit for the position.
