Does a DIY postbacc have to be bio?

Hi, I'm a reinventor (hopefully). I have a 2.97 cumulative GPA and I think my science GPA is probably lower. I'm weighing my options for the future and have been considering postbaccs vs SMPs. I would really prefer a DIY postbacc as SMPs seem very expensive.

My only problem is that I don't really have any upper level biology to take. I graduated last semester with a biology degree and have pretty much taken all upper level bio and biochemistry my school has to offer. I was thinking of taking upper level classes in physics and math maybe, I actually did pretty well in these classes and think I could do well if I took some more advanced ones.

Assuming I do well in these and took around 30-40 credits, would med schools count this as reinvention? Or is an SMP my only option?

Find a different school to take your biology classes at. If you've done poorly in those courses, then you need to retake them. The point is to show that you can handle medical school.

Not engineering school, not a physics degree. You can take some of those courses, but I want to know that you can handle Medical school.

Okay, I can definitely do that, thank you!

Is retaking them okay even if I got no lower than a C? I just have a few Cs through my transcript bringing me down in things like human physiology and genetics. I thought the rule of thumb was to only retake C- and below.
