I know a high GPA can offset a low OAT score, but what about the opposite?

Your GPA is more so a culmination of your undergraduate career, but wouldn't the OAT be the ultimate test per se, which determines if you really know your stuff?

Like I guess what I am saying, if you have a below 3.0 gpa, but an outstanding OAT score, is that "acceptable"? (along with other parts of app).....

I've seen people with 3.0 GPAs and 320 OATs etc. be accepted, so if you had a 2.7 gpa for example and a 390, would that be good enough???

Matters of acceptance are handled on a case-by-case basis. Some schools may overlook a low GPA if the OAT score is high and others may not. Some may overlook a low OAT if the GPA is high and others may not.

You need to ask the schools you are interested in. In most cases, a 390 will at least get your application a second look. The issue will be why your GPA is below 3.0. If you bombed your first year but have been doing well since then, most programs will overlook that sub par 3.0 with a 390 because bombing first year is very very common.

If however you aced first year and have trended downwards since, it may be an issue.

So again, contact the schools you are interested in.
