Does a letter from a DO help?

I'm helping an attending in a clinical study who I came to know is a D.O. He is willing to write a letter for me. I want to know does it make any difference if the letter is from a DO and not from an MD?

I guess it shouldn't matter as long as the letter says good things about you! well I am not very sure either.

it probably depends where you're applying and which specialty. sadly, there are still probably people out there who think less of DOs, but i would think that for most non-surgical fields no one is going to care about that sorta thing.
