I was wondering how much dental schools take a close look at an upward trend of grades. I screwed around and got a C, D, and F, in three different bio classes which really screws up my GPA. And another thing is that I'm not a Bio, or Chem major. I'm majoring in Kinesiology, so I won't be taking many Bio, Chem, or Physics classes, so raising my BCP GPA to 3.3 or above is going to be really hard. I've had an upward trend though, and if I keep it up, I may be able to pull my BCP gpa up to 3.1-3.2, but I don't think thats competitive enough. So how much will those grades hurt me, and how much do schools look at the progress a student makes?

yes it does matter, some schools will look for an upward GPA trend by just looking at a certian number the most recent hours completed (45-60 credits). However some schools don't care and just want a high number.

If you got D's/F's in your sciences, I would definitely take some upper level division sciences to show that you can handle them. If you do poorly in them, perhaps that's a sign that sciences aren't your thing. If you do well, then it will only help to make you a more competitive applicant.
