Does adding schools cause a longer verification wait?

Hey guys, I know this has been addressed before, but the previous thread didn't really reach a conclusion. I'm currently on the line with AMCAS, but I'd love an answer now.

If I add schools to my AMCAS application (thereby requiring me to resubmit the entire thing) will that put me to the back of the line for verification?

I don't know about the back of the line, but I think it could cause a delay.
I waited until after I was verified--and my AMCAS updated SAME DAY.
Once you're verified it takes approximately THREE seconds to add schools.
Before that, you may be throwing a wrench in the works! Why risk it?
If you want, tell your LOR senders to get the letters out to the schools, and once you're verified, add.

I don't know what schools, specifically you want to add, but a lot of secondaries aren't even out yet so there is not a good reason to rush. 🙂

we had this debate, but no one really knows. your safest bet is to just wait til its verified and send it out then, it will be pretty much be instant anyways, and most schools, save a few, wont send you info about secondaries from a prelim amcas, so adding a school now, or adding after you a verified wont really make much of a difference. What it might do, is it might affect your verification status. Although Im not really sure how it can, since all they are doing is cross referncing your application with a transcript thats sitting in their pile of transcripts, i couldnt imagine if you updated it, if someone will deliberately go find your transcript pull it out and then put it back at the end of teh pile again. But who knows, they might be more modern then that, but their delays points in an otherwise fashion 😉

I added after I was verified to a school that doesn't screen and I got a seconday from them about a week later, so I didn't notice any delay.

Follow up question: Will it cost me an additional $160 fee to verify the second set of schools after I get verified the first time?

No, It is STILL $30 a school.
I applied to 16 the first time ($610) and then added 3 on 7-20 for $90.

I know how hard it is to wait, but when adding schools after verification is so easy (and SO FAST!), why risk f-ing AMCAS up?
