Does AMCAS automatically receive LORs?

So, my undergrad pre med committee told me that they would upload my letter packet last Thursday, but AMCAS still says that they haven't received it. Is that normal, or should AMCAS automatically say "received" when they upload the letters?

It takes some time for AMCAS to process the letters and change the status on your application to "received". I'd give it a little more time as they are probably processing tons of letters right now.

I guess I'll wait until tomorrow, then call them up. Should a week be enough time?

It states on the AMCAS home page https://services.aamc.org/AMCAS2_2013/ that they are processing transcripts received 7/10/12. I think that they do LOR in the same que as transcripts, unless they are uploaded in batches. It should be soon, in the next day or two.

Now if they would only do the verification part a little faster...

I'm pretty sure that when my UG committee says they "upload" a letter packet they are talking about uploading it to Interfolio....but then you have to specify to them which application services or schools you would like them to forward the digital version of your letters to.

Yeah, I already specified which ones to upload it to.

All of mine were updated by AMCAS immediately. And by immediately I mean I got the AMCAS email before my teacher's email saying "I just uploaded your letter to AMCAS."

You did create a letter spot on your AMCAS for it and your school knew what letter ID to put with it, right?

Your school is uploading the LOR online, right?

If you answered yes to both then it should be practically instantaneous. At least it was for me last year

Yeah, I did both of those. I guess I should call them tomorrow.

Mine were automatic. All 6 of them. One of them was sent at 11pm on the 4th of July. I don't think AMCAS had people working on the 4th of july at 11pm.

OK, so I just got an e-mail that my letters are on VirtualEval, and been made available to AMCAS, but AMCAS still says that they haven't received it, so I hope it just takes a few days for them to update that.
