Hello,

I wondered if anyone out there does any extra odd jobs to make money? I'm currently looking for work and desperately need to start making money.

Some things I've been looking into are: taking surveys online, being a mystery shopper, and being a proofreader freelance.

Anyone know anything about these things or have any other ideas?

Thanks,

BB

I know that the 3 you mentioned are all scams...

add to that building small electronic devices, doing medical billling work from home, and selling steak knives.

Lol...
I'm a professional study participant!
My undergrad school is big on research, especially in nutrition, and they're constantly recruiting. It's kinda inconvenient (Ever had to do a 24 hour urine collection?), but the money is good and sometimes they even feed you. Check your local hopsital too...young healthy kids are invaluable!

Also, I lifeguard early in the morning (5-8AM). I get paid for sitting on my butt. It's fabulous.

boilerbeast hit it on the head. the best way to make odd-money is through research. i once made $140 through a market research group that had me write down what i felt about coffee for three consecutive days after drinking a cup.

So how do you get to be a professional study participant? If you don't have a university that does lots of those studies (or doesn't have the funds to pay you well), how do you get into the market research things?

It's all about being in the right place at the right time.

Most of the time, if someone is going to pay you, then you are going to have to work for it.

There are scams, but I personally know of someone who was able to get over $2000 in clothes due to a mystery shopper program. However, this person has upper level degrees and lots of business experience.

Generally, for mystery shopper, market research, etc. programs....they are looking for people who have a ton of qualifications.

If I were you, however, I would stick to washing dishes. It's good, clean (pun intended), honest work.

Ironically, you actually need to have advanced degrees to donate sperm now.

And I'm not kidding.

If you're looking for bodily fluids to donate for money, try blood plasma.

I definitely recommend the study participation. You can get $20 for a one-shot, one-hour study, or if you're lucky enough to get into an ongoing one, well, they compensate you very nicely. Check for fliers around the medical center or chemistry department of your school, that's where they usually are at my school at least. They also occasionally run ads in the school classifieds.

I do handyman services off craigslist . If ur good with ur hands, its good easy tax-free cash.
