Does anyone find this odd?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
HAHA this is hilarious! And very obvious as well. The kid looks like he's about to break out laughing.

hahaha!! his hair is swooshing the opposite way in each picture though!

What's even more awesome is this: not only is it the same kid, it's the exact same image. One of them has just been flipped horizontally.

I've taken the first image, flipped it horizontally so it matches the orientation of the other, and then resized it so you can see.

TADA!

I wonder who used the image first. Also, I wonder who the heck he is.

pharmacy schools using models instead of actual students to advertise their school. Does this mean their programs are bogus too?

I feel cheated. I just assumed that the students on the websites were actual students. I guess they are using a photo agency.

Would it affect your impression of a school if they used actors/models to create better aesthetic appeal?

hahaha, I can't imagine what would the administration say if someone actually bring this up lol

hilarious...caught the tie and it was over hahahah... i wonder what the schools think about it if someone emailed them about this rofl...who wants to do it!

^^ someone do it

OMG this is hilarious!

If I designed the website, I would hire a bunch of models to pose for all the photos. Once the students pay their tuition and come to class on their first day, SURPRISE! 😱

So it looks like LECOM photoshopped the picture that Husson is using with a different background... but I can't be sure. Maybe they both added a background. This is great!

By the way, how in the world did you EVER catch this????

this is how it works,

a web designer has absolutly nothing to do with their clients other than offering them a service, these med schools being their clients. they offer their clients 2 choices: 1- lets hire a photographer to go out and photograph your students to use for images within the web site. the college not only has to pay the web designer more money to do this, but now also has to pay for a photographer. on top of that the college now has to choose which student, get them to sign a release, coordinate the whole shoot, blah blah. thus it takes longer and costs more. or 2-the web designer will offer to use stock images within the web site instead. it's easier/faster/cheaper. 🙂

there ya have it. 😀

I have a pharmacy school friend that has an identical twin in another pharmacy school.

Not completely unheard of.

I have no idea but I I generally frequent SDN at work. Today, I saw the Husson thread and wanted to look at their curriculum and ****. I saw the picture and couldn't place the fool, but I knew I saw him on some other school's website that I applied to.

Did this have any effect on your opinion about the school?

Maybe he's one of those photo's that come with the built in clip art, like when you click "picture" instead of "clip art". He's probably in other programs as well.

One school came first - and is well known

Hmmm... Very interesting - I will have this noted.

LOL...:laugh::laugh:, this made my day. I totally agree Husson definitely ripped off carrot top from LECOM...Husson doesnt even have a first class yet...This should definitely help boost their reputation, not to mention how proud they are to accept prepharms who are waitlisted from other schools.

I don't get why anyone can't see past using models, templates, etc. We've all done it ourselves when advertising our images, i.e. borrowing templates for resumes, borrowing clothing styles from designers, etc. It's branding! Plus, it's far better to use models and clip art than to pick their own hottest pharmacy student out of class to do a photo shoot.

Honestly, I think it's kind of lame. I can sort of understand why Husson used it, as they don't have any students yet. LECOM has/had loads of students; take pictures of them.

And yes, I understand using templates for convenience, but I don't think it's effective 'branding' using a stock photo/model/clip art/picture when there's a possibility for it showing up on another schools website. I wouldn't be surprised if Red was on some other schools website.

I do agree that pharmacy schools should have their hottest students all over their websites, tha'd be good branding.

Maybe the actual students aren't much to look at--lol

Seriously...most schools do this type of stuff--no matter what kind of school they are.

If it is a model why would they use a ginger or even a daywalker for that matter? Can you catch gingervitus by looking at a picture? I can't remember, it is completely hereditary right? I will have to ask Cartman.

lol. Very interesting to know.

So is USP the only college that uses actual students on its site?

And if they pick a model, wouldn't that guy deter people from going to those schools?

That kid is ugly...if they want to use models then they need to pick the guys from the Abercrombie and Fitch catalogs. 😉

nah, I am not picky...I just prefer Jude Law look alikes instead of carrot tops. 😛
Uh huh... Jude Law look alikes is not being picky. 😉 Sheesh, the average pharmacy student just doesn't cut it anymore, does it?

No Jude Law's actually the model Photography student: (Road to Perdition was such an awesome movie)

It's more likely that each school hired the same web design company to build their website or used a template. STILL that is funny.

damn he is hot. I own/seen all his movies! 😍

If you are just starting a pharmacy school how would you have students!!!!
There are pictures that were paid for by the school to use on the websites. Know your facts before you start slandering.

Even if the school(s) did pay for the picture(s), it's still really funny, and the fact that the professional ad agency that supplied the photographs (if that's the case) offered two of the same picture to different Pharmacy schools is particularly amusing.
