Hi guys! I am new to this forum and had a question and I am sure some of you guys might know the answer to.

When a school rejects you, do they send another letter to your advisor/predental chair? Is there any way a predental chair advisor would know if you got rejected to a school? I am pretty sure this information is confidential, but I just wanted to make sure. It is a long story.......... but I got accepted to a school and rejected by two. I really didn't want my advisor to know because he is dating my cousin.... and I didnt want my whole family to know. (I mean, I am sure he probably wouldn't tell my cousin, but I would just feel uncomfortable around him and the fact that he knows, and I am not telling my family) Thanks SDN!!!

i dont think they send it out to anyone else. i mean, some schools hardly take out the time to address the letter to you (by name); i dont suppose they'll send out multiple copies.

but, i do find your situation a bit funny😀

I hope not! I am glad someone thinks this situation is funny....... b/c I am freaking out:scared::scared::scared:

I'll admit the situation is a bit entertaining. On another note, no way you're advisor gets a letter or notification.

When I was first admitted to my post-bac program, I went to the pre-health advisor with some questions on how successful students were coming out of the program with stats similar to mine. Immediately, he logged onto AADSAS through the “Health Professions Advisors Portal” (https://aadsas.adea.org/aadsasadvisors2008/advisors.htm), and had access to many students’ applications.

In the “release statements” section of the AADSAS application we were able to accept or decline the following statement:

“I give permission for AADSAS to release selected information about the status of my AADSAS application to the chief health professions advisor and the health professions advisory committee of the post-secondary institution(s) I have attended. By releasing this information, advisors are better able to assist applicants in the application process and advise applicants in the future. Applicants cannot make changes to this item after submitting their application to AADSAS.”

To the OP: Go check there. If you agreed, then the advisor can check your app if he chooses, but will not get instant email notifications upon every decision mad by d-schools.

Okay I am officially crapping in my pants:scared:😡

yeah... I'm glad I DID NOT agree to this statement.

I knew about it beforehand. My adviser has a big mouth. He is always talking about where people are accepted or rejected. I did not want him to have access to my info...

I wish I read these release statements more carefully............ I wouldn't have agreed, but now it says I can not change it........🙁🙁

But........ I mean Pre-health chairs are soooooo busy....... do you guys think they would have any time to check?
