Does anyone recommend getting a Qbank beginning of 3rd year?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Do people recommend starting a Qbank early at beginning of 3rd year? If so which Qbank would be the best?

Thanks!

Yes. It's debated, but yes. Search old (even pretty recent) threads. UWorld > all other qbanks.

I killed all shelves and step 2 and I think a lot of it is because I did Uworld religiously.

Kaplan ($199) vs Uworld ($399)? Getting Kaplan for the year and Uworld for closer to step 2? Which one's better for shelf?

thanks!

totally. get uworld and use it for each of your rotations. it will be like studying for step 2 all year

What is the best book to complement the UW Qbank? For Step 1, I would read relevant portions of First Aid as I answered questions, but it seems like there are various books equally recommended for Step 2.

e.g. thoughts on FA for Step 2 vs. Step up to Step 2

so i got kaplan and uworld. if you're an ama member and call kaplan you can get it pretty heavily discounted- mine was like 120... and for some subjects like surgery peds and ob there are not a lot of uw questions. if you only get 1, get UW.

There are ways of saving money you know? Not that I advocate what you think I am saying. I'm just saying.

Moreover, you could always pay for one month and... well... enough of this. You can use your imagination.

I said nothing definitive to incriminate myself

Hahahaha. Nice.

Just pony up the cash like the rest of us and bite the bullet. What's a couple hundred bucks for test prep in the big scheme of things?

I would also like some suggestions on this issue.
