I took Gen Bio 1 + lab (4 credits) [BSCI105] but did not take Gen Bio 2 + lab [BSCI106]. But instead I did take Cell Biology and Physiology + lab (4 credits) [BSCI330]. Would that fulfill 8 credits of General Biology?

edit: Yes, I already sent emails to several Pharm school admissions offices to ask but I wanted to see if someone could give me a quick answer from experience.

Some schools do; some schools don't. Do some research in the schools you're interested in and they should show if there are any other substitutes for certain classes. I think if they explicitly say G. Bio 1 & 2 are needed, and no disclaimer is provided, then you've got to assume that there are no other exceptions. But yeah, check with every school to see if anything can be done, because you never know. Good luck!

In my experience if a school requires, for example, Gen Bio I and II with labs and then in addition requires Cell Bio and Physiology then you need all of the separate components.

If it only "recommends" you take Cell Bio and Physiology then you'll probably have a better chance of a substitution. I'm not sure since my undergrad required both Bio I and II plus the labs before you could take either Cell Bio or Physiology.

You've already emailed the schools so you've done what you need to do. Good luck!

No, at least most likely no for California schools.

I was in a situation where I was missing Gen Bio 2, but took nearly every upper division biology class in a biology department as a part of my major and still had to go back and retake that class with a bunch of sophmores. Schools would not take substitutions.
