Hi, guys.
I have been accepted to a couple of medical schools (thank god), and I am sitting on a couple of waitlists.
However, the waitlisted schools are actually my top choices.
As I am getting ready to submit my FAFSA, I was wondering if it will affect my chances of coming off the waitlist if the FAFSA showed that my family does not earn much, and does not have a lot of money saved.
I am assuming that on one hand, it will be good for the schools that I have been accepted to, because I will be able to receive the best financial package possible, but I wasn't sure if the other schools will see my financial report and will be turned down by my inability to pay.

For those of you who will say not to include the parents' info, I have called their financial office and they said to include it.
If anyone knows about this, please help. Thank you very much

I doubt your FAFSA will have anything to do with waitlist movement.

schools don't care whether your paying them from your pocket, your parents pocket, the bank's pocket or the neighbor's pocket. As long as they get their money, they don't really care, and that topic most probably wouldn't be brought up when an admissions comittee is comparing you to another student.

I'm just curious: how does FAFSA work if you don't know which school you're going to yet? Is there a place on the form that lets you put all accepted and waitlisted schools and then you are offered a different package for each??

Yep. Take a look at the online application for yourself.

you've got to be financially complete at all schools from which you haven't been rejected, before each school's aid deadline. it's a whole new world of pain.

i would not be in the least surprised if whether or not someone was financially complete was used to help determine who comes off the waitlist. some places might use that as an indication of interest.
