hey all,
so a friend and I have seemed to get some invites after telling schools we would be out in the area or simply inquiring about the status of our app.

do you think following up with admissions folks(really pressing them for an update) increases the likelihood of acceptance? i would have thought not, but now it seems like it may. which would make me go out and be a lot more active with the schools i'm waiting on, instead of letting them take their time.

I'm am cautious to share my opinion on this topic. I feel that any possible way of reaching out an priming them to your name works in your benefit.

Scenario 1: Say, you were a close match but they have no decided your interview fate. So you call the secretary and she looks through the folders (or where ever the packets are) and finds you confirms your app. is complete and then places it on top of the pile.

Scenario 2: They transfer you to someone important, BAM they now have heard your name/voice

Scenario 3: In a pile of 300-350, no one will say "gosh, remember that guy who called about his app? What an a**ho*e!

But don't start calling schools... :meanie:
