Does foreign language fall under humanities?

I'm just curious because a couple of the med school websites I've been perusing mentioned that they preferred applicants with a certain number of hours in "social sciences and humanities," and I think a few, like Hopkins, even required it (don't quote me on that).

each school is different.

i know that at rochester there is a huge and varied list that encompassed some classes that aren't typically considered humanities like music performance classes.

call the school and ask. i'm sure they have a list that they can recite.
