Does it matter whether to send thank you email or not after the interview?

I just finished an interview. I forgot the name of one interviewer. I tried to find it in the school's directory and wasn't able to. If I do not send any thank you emails to the interviewers, will that negatively impact their assessment of my application?

Not going to say if it affects your application or not, but even if it did affect it negatively, nothing you can do about it now, right? No point stressing about it now, what's done is done.

Do you know if the interviewer is actually a faculty member? Often alumni and -- in some cases -- community members are available in some interview pools.
