Does Loyola require an advisor letter?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think it's an option on the letter form they mail you. I don't think it's required though if you meet the other letter requirements.... I think two science and one non-science and then you can add extras.

blah the three letters i requested were all science. now time to try to get one of my profs to ****hammer out a letter quickly

According to the instructions, a letter from your premedical or academic advisor is required PLUS three from professors (2 from science professors).

You are only exempt from the advisor letter if you have no advisor.

Also, if you trasnferred during undergrad, at least one letter of rec needs to come from each school. If you can't provide this, you need to provide a letter indicating why not.

Meg-I was in the same position...I didn't know my advisor really well...but I couldn't say that I didn't have one...so I had to email my advisor, send him my AMCAS, and push him to send my letter out before the deadline. He did get it in....but lord knows it's probably not the best since I didn't know him well at all!
