Just trying to figure out my next step here:

I am graduating from UG with decent GPA an average MCAT, I applied this cycle and waitlisted at one school. I applied to a MSBS program and was accepted, however a little skeptical of the process and timeline for the 2017/2018 application cycle. If I were to preform well in the MSBS courses would a average MCAT (60th percentile) be overlooked? Or would it be best to retake the MCAT as well as enroll in a MSBS program?

Without any numbers to go by (and for me that is all GPAs, Grade Trends, and MCAT) it is almost impossible to advise.
But you need both solid GPA and solid MCAT; one does not replace the other.

Additionally, if you are entering an SMP, my advice is to not to apply until you have completed the program
3.77 GPA 502 MCAT

Don't most people in MSBS apply for med school the summer after the complete? (aka gap year post completion). Also it would make sense to retake that MCAT.

For MD schools, one needs to ace both the SMNP AND MCAT (like 513+). Your state school might be a little more forgiving, as will all DO schools.
