This more so out of curiosity since it's out of my hands, but does having potentially multiple residencies give someone a boost in the states they could hold residence in? For example, I'm a current resident in CA, but my father lives in FL (where I also was born and raised) meaning I could potentially hold residency status there. Would schools in either CA + FL be more motivated to extend a II for example just because they know I might have more potential options than another applicant (granted the application is strong on its own of course).

I'm thinking about this under the logic of someone having multiple acceptances and being able to use that to influence schools' decisions in intent letters they'd rather go to. I was wondering what kind of effect this has from an adcom perspective.

You are the resident of one state only. Either you & your family live there, or you have lived there since graduation from college.
Going away to college doesn't change your statehood.
I understand. That's what I meant by potential. I thought it was implied, but I live in CA with my mom who doesn't live with my father. Depending on where I end up, I could become a resident of FL instead since my father lives there (and pays taxes of course).
