Think they both do. Have to pay a (hefty) deposit and I think its non refundable.

I am sure Boston has deferral option but you have to pay 3000 dollars to save your place for next year

As told by the program director, one cannot defer their admission in NYU from this year onwards.

NYU is NOT offering deferrals this year and you have 2weeks after you get the acceptance letter to make $2,500 or $3,000 deposit and it is non-refundable.
