I looked at the MSAR and they did take a godo number. But with someone with only average stats I am wondering if I should even bother. I'm looking at their secondary and thinking that I really don't want to write an essay if I have minimal chance of getting in.

Any advice? Heard they're changing their policies to more out of staters, but not sure.

Don't sell yourself short, you can join me and many others in mediocrity! You are only slightly above the average matriculant, but well above the average joe applying to medical school.

I'm wondering the same thing... I love portland but their secondarys seems to go out of its way to warn you off unless you are a minority, live in WICHE state, or are superman.

2 app years ago they accepted 60 percent of their in-state interviewees. heehee. Just thought I'd rub it in.

In my opinion, screw applying to OHSU for the simple reason that its 38k per year for out of staters!!!! Yeah, so you get in, but you'll be in debt for the rest of your life! No wonder they give extra consideration to MPH/MD program applicants. that's two more years to rob you while you sit there and watch. I got the secondary and now I'm thinking it's not even worth it considering the cost (even though I really love the school and Portland's amazing). But it's up to you. . .

They indeed do take more oos now, due to financial crap. As an in-stater, I'm hoping to get an interview.
