Does prestige of my school matter?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Also, does anyone know for sure if UCSF does not consider PCAT scores at all?

i spoke to ucsf and they do not require the pcat so not taking it or even doing poorly shouldn't hurt you. if you take it, however, pharmcas will automatically send it to them so they will see it. if anything, it should help if you did well and according to the person i spoke to, not be able to hurt you. either way, just keep in mind that they'll see it if they get the scores.

Most schools receive so many applications (700~1500) for a very limited spot (60~250). So a lot of schools use GPA & PCAT filtering process to narrow down to qualified applicants. I believe when it comes to final decision, prestige school will play a role but you still need to have a decent GPA & PCAT in order not to get filtered at the initial process.
