I'm looking at finishing undergrad in 3 years. However, this may provide difficulty when it comes to getting enough shadowing hours in addition to academics, research, and extracurriculars. So my question is this: does physician shadowing done the summer between your senior year of high school and freshman year of college "count" for adcoms? I will be a "technical sophomore" during this time, if that changes anything.

Sure....since you already graduated from high school.

Yes. And by the way, a regular academic year goes Summer, fall, spring, summer, fall, spring, etc. So Summer technically falls into your first academic college year.

And you graduated HS, so that's another reason.
