so unless i work kind of hard my last semester, i won't get summa cum laude (magna cum laude instead)

is this a big deal at all

i guess it doesn't matter to medical school but do they care about this for residency or anything lol?

It may do you some good for med school apps if you're in the cycle (can send an update letter - at my school, s.c.l. requires an honors thesis so your update letter would have more substance than just "oh look I graduated with a high GPA).

For residencies, it is completely irrelevant.

There is very little standardization of Latin Honors between different colleges. At some places, any GPA over a 3.5 means Latin Honors while other places require a minimum of 3.7 and a thesis. This is one of the reasons the MCAT and USMLEs are so important (standardization).

It's another thing that varies so much by institution that it doesn't mean a whole lot. I know people who graduated summa cum laude by having a 3.8, which would be cum laude at my school...

Oh true, I forgot that you can still report it on your CV. However, I'm pretty damn sure no one gave a crap when I was applying since no one even know what college I attended every time I went in for a residency interview.

Nobody will care about your MCAT score once you start med school. So, no, do not put your MCAT score on your cv. The score that will matter is your Step One score. But bragging rights about a high MCAT are gone.

Do you remember when you became a college student? Nobody cared that you were in your high school National Honor Society.

A CV elaborates on education to a greater degree than a résumé and is expected to include a comprehensive listing of professional history including every term of employment, academic credential, publication, contribution or significant achievement

It should only include an EC if it is 1) a valid academic or professional accomplishment and 2) it is relevant to whatever you'll be using the CV for.
