If I take 14 credits vs. 17 will it make a difference? I think I can do well with either course load.

No. The most important thing is that you do well. No one is going look down upon a 4.0 with 14 credits.
On the other hand, 4.0 with 17 credits is great.

One of the smartest things to learn as a premed which I was also guilty of. Admissions committees are not coming through your grades every semester like that.
