Does test prep work at all?

New England J had an article which said taking a test prep course didn't benefit the students "by as much as 1 additional correct answer on Step 1" I wanted to hear other people's experiences, especially those who didn't take test prep for Step 1. I took prep for Step I and none for Step 2. My feelings are mixed; for me they were basically a guide to high yield material to focus on.

Don't see why it would. There's a bunch of books out there telling you which material is going to be tested.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, but it's still the same cat.
