1. SquareRoot(SquareRoot(90,000)

2. 4^9 / [ (8x(16^4-2x8^4)]

My question is that these problems are 10x easier with the windows calculator. Do these problems still show up or have they changed the test to avoid these type?

My Kaplan book had them this easy, but the real thing was much harder on mine. 😡

These aren't that bad. they're pretty easy.
I'm sure with a calculator, on the real exam, it would be harder.

These problems aren't that bad. I think I did get some problems similar to the second one on my DAT. Honestly, it's probably faster to do it by hand (if you can). Pressing those buttons on the calculator just takes too much time (in my opinion).

I completely agree with you about the lag on the calculator. I tried using it on my laptop and it took too long. I probably won't use it that much, maybe on 1 or 2 problems. Mental math and hand calculation is a lot faster.

Also the simplifying problems are always freebies for me...because I can do them fast.
