I doubt there are many folks out there less than 70 years old who've never played a video game or had a family-member aficionado, so I doubt listing this as a Hobby will have negative ramifications. Hopefully, it would be one hobby among many, some of which involve "live" interaction with others.
 
Oh wow, it seems as if you can list anything under ECs these days. I'm assuming this means IM basketball counts too? I'm curious, would a sport count if it's something you do on a daily basis but you participate in tournaments outside of school instead of IM?

Adcomms like to know that you have stress-relieving leisuretime activities, and listing them enhances your application. Both of the above would be great to list, as would working out on your own in a gym 5 days a week for an hour (or whatever).
