Does this still count as shadowing?

I've shadowed 3 different specialties with patients etc., but I also had the opportunity to shadow 2 separate courses with surgical residents, one with a focus on trauma surgery and another with OBGYN. They were 2 day classes so 16 hours each I think, with a live pig lab (trauma one) and a cadaver lab. They let me help assist in the labs and I shadowed the surgeon directing the course.

The reason I'm asking is because I feel like the goal of shadowing is to see how a doctors daily day is involving patients, but these two experiences are "patient-less."

Essentially can this go under the same category as shadowing under AMCAS or is it something else?

this is interesting. I'd consider more of a shadowing of residents where you got to see what 8 hours of a resident's 80 hour week might be made up of training of that kind.It shouldn't be our only shadowing.
