I am a california native and want to eventually end up back here to practice medicine. However, i am willing to go out of state for Medical school, but i was not sure if that would affect my ability to practice medicine in california or do my residency there. someone had mentioned that you would have to take the boards twice? anyone have any help? Thanks!!

Yes, if you go to medical school in a foreign country that might affect where you can practice.

Oh, you meant in the US? No, not really. You might have to pay some licensing fees in a new state, but thats about it. Its the same national boards everywhere.

No you won't have to take the boards twice. If you attend med school elsewhere in the US, this won't impact your ability to return to California. However residency program directors do like to focus on people with contacts to the state who they think actually will come to their program, so you may have to sell yourself more if you are going to school elsewhere. That just means you try to do an away rotation in California in your fourth year of med school and sell yourself as a Californian in your applicaiton.
