hey guys.
Is there any advantages of doing pre-pharm (taking pre-req) in harder school?
for example,
I go to SUNY Buffalo. I tried for an early assurance but I couldnt get in bc i resigned a course.
As some ppl who study at Buffalo already know Buffalo's pre-pharm courses are very tough (I'm not saying others schools' pre-req courses are easy however since we have an early assurance program, im assuming it's bit harder)
my gpa is around 3.2
I am worried about my gpa. I looked at other ppl's post and their gpa are like above 3.5
do i not stand a chance?
🙁

There's not really an advantage of taking pre-pharmacy courses at harder school, I don't think.

If you don't make it for early assurance, you can still apply through PharmCAS. You still have time to improve your 3.2 GPA, and the PCAT as well as pharmacy experience/research/extracurricular/your interview count for something too. A 3.2 is not bad, you can still make it if you make a difference in the next few semesters. 🙂

I agree that taking pre-req at UB can be tough, especially because for two classes undergrad. are taking them together with the pharmacy students, many of whom have a lot of background in upper division science courses already.

There are some pharmacy schools that take into consideration what undergrad you went to. I interviewed at Michigan & I know they take an applicant's undergrad university into consideration when reviewing applications. Not all schools do this, though. If you have any idea of which schools you're going to apply to, you can look on their websites if they'll take where you took your pre-reqs into consideration when they review your application.
