Hello everyone! I have a quick question about something that's been stressing me out. During my sophomore and junior years of high school, I did dual enrollment at my local community college and took General Chemistry and Biology 1 & 2 online. I did well in those courses (A).

However, when I got to my four-year university, my advisor recommended that I retake those classes in person and at my own university. So, I followed their advice, retook the classes, and did well overall; however, in one class I got an A- (which was worse than my original grade of an A), and now I’m second-guessing that decision. The main reason I retook the prerequisites was that the original courses were online and didn’t include a lab, which I needed.

I feel like this could be a really big red flag and error on my part. I really want to get into T30 schools, and I feel like this could affect my application. Did I make a mistake by retaking them? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

You're overthinking this. This will not be a red flag, let alone a "really big" one. Just my thoughts.

Not a red flag - you are overfocusing on the A-. You received, in one class, an A- with two As as well. In addition, you completed a necessary prerequisite.

Your decision has benefitted you immensely.

The path to being a physician is long, so don't look down at your metaphorical feet and critique the small pebbles that slip. You planted your feet strongly and on a very essential step, look up and forward. You have good reason to be confident!

Trust your steps.

(As you acknowledged) Your dual enrollment CC courses were online. Your retakes were in person with labs. That's why you were encouraged to retake; you have shown you can take on other in-person upper level science classes. You avoided the provlem of applying with inadequate prereqs. That's more important.
