Hi! I was just wondering if there was anyone applying to Dominican right now for the Fall 2013 semester.

I'll be applying for next fall. I'll also be attending a OT information session on the 8th!

I'm applying too but can't make it for session on the 8th 🙁

Sweet, I visited the school over the summer and it is now my top choice. Are you coming out of undergrad?

you should set up a private tour, after the tour you can have an interview with the admissions director which is a great way to get your face out there!

I'm definitely scheduling a tour before November bc I want to get an idea of the university and I want them to know who I am. What was your top choice before visiting?

My top choice before visiting was Towson, which for me coming from the east coast, is much closer. But I am really looking forward to going to graduate school in California.

Hi! I applied for this fall but I still not heard back. I think they didn't start reviewing applications until March.

I applied for this fall as well... they sent me a letter saying thank you for applying and that they start reviewing applications on March 1st at the earliest. So hopefully we will hear back in the next few weeks! 🙂

yep, the review process started last Friday. Hopefully we'll get interviews in the next few weeks. Best of luck!

Just got accepted!!! =D Who else got a call this morning and is accepting? =)

I did! Congratulations! Do you know where to look for housing? So much to do~

Hello, classmate! =) Try Craiglist! I saw a posting a week ago.. a room in a house near the campus all utilities included for $700/month. That's a pretty good deal considering the pricey cost of living in Marin County

I got the acceptance phone call today! Where is everyone planning on living?

Thank you! Member20 do you live in the Bay?

Yeah! About 8 miles south of SF! =) Where are you from? From where I live, Dominican is about a 35-40 min drive on a good day. Rush hour.. 1 hour or possibly more. =/

Member20: I'm from Orange County. Oh wow...1 hr traffic? That's tough.
CMR1019: Congratulations! Where are you coming from? I've been told by a current student that her and a few of her classmates rented a house. Apparently that's way cheaper than renting an apt.

Ohhh man, I didn't get a call yet 🙁

I'm coming from Seattle. I don't know the area well at all so any help is greatly appreciated! We should make a Facebook group or something!

Congratulations! Yes, I'm also a bit nervous about the tuition costs.... I also agree on making a fb page. =)

The tuition makes me nervous too! It's going to be about 80k+ for the whole program. I thought it was ridiculously expensive till I compared it with other private schools in California. In terms of tuition, it's at par with Sam Meritt, LLU, & St. Augustine. USC's tuition is 100k+.

I heard they only accepted 25 but I think students from the BS/MS route will join us?

I'll go ahead and start a Facebook page for us! 🙂

yeaa I saw USC's tuition ...just hate the fact that the gvt got rid of subsidized loans.

I just created a Facebook page! I don't think I should make this public, so I'll go ahead and message you guys!

For anyone else who's going to Dominican in the fall and wants to see the page, please message me for the Facebook URL! =)

I got in too 🙂 I'll be moving from LA so I'll need to look for housing up there. Anyone else looking for a place?

Congratulations! Did you guys receive your letters in the mail yet? In one of the papers, it mentions how we could take Conditions in Occupational Therapy either in the summer semester or fall. The summer one will be an online format. Do any of you guys know any students who did this and what they thought?

I don't. =/ But I will most likely take it in the summer. I will contact them after the 15th to get more info about it (start date, cost, financial aid, books, etc.)

Hi! Member 20 and future Ot gal! I
Just emailed some other members of
This forum who are attending DU about this class. I think I am going to take it. One less class to have during the fall. It's great that is online.

Hi HopefulOT23! =) Nice! Do let us know what that they say! 10 units instead of 13 in the fall, I'm all for it! I was kinda hoping if we take this 3-unit course in the summer, we could finish a semester early (since the last semester is just 3-month fieldwork)... but I guess not! haha

I think I'm going to take it too! One less class for the fall =)

Are you guys planning on living in San Rafeal or in San Francisco?

I'm going to commute for the first semester to see if it's doable for me. I hear we have Fridays off so I'm hoping 4 days of commuting shouldn't be too bad. But if I were to move, I would definitely move to San Rafael instead of SF to be closer to campus and save money on gas and toll. 🙂

I'm hoping to find a place to live in San Rafael~~ Not sure when I should start looking for a place.
I noticed the quizzes are open book. Through personal experience those types are really hard...yikes. I'm also wondering how the final will be like.

Hi! So no classes on Fridays? Do you know more about the schedule ? I wonder if we have early classes I have a 1 hour + of drive each way.

Unfortunately, that's all I know about our schedule. The professors I interviewed with mentioned that our classes would be scheduled Mon-Thurs and that we unofficially would have Fridays off.

I have a 45-50 min commute, and Im now thinking it might be wise to move to San Rafael to save time & money.

Hey Everyone,

I've been looking into some houses in the San Rafael and Novato area. Would any of you be interested in renting a house together? I have been able to find some houses at the cheapest $2500 a month for 4 bedrooms.. But I want to be sure that I'll be able to find people to share the house wtih..
I'm trying to get a head start on this so that when I head up there in May (for my advisement and registration on the 13th) I can be productive and also check out some places since I'm coming from Los Angeles..

Hello! I am coming from Seattle so I am definitely interested in looking for a house near school. I just have to wait and see how much financial aid I will be getting. My aunt and uncle live in Hayward so I might live with them for a semester.

When is everyone doing their advising and registration?

Hey guys! =)

I've scheduled my advising for the 2nd week of May.

For those of you who are interested in taking the summer class online, have you guys scheduled an appointment or talked with Jody yet? I plan to make an appointment with her sometime this week or next. I definitely want to know more details about the summer class (start date, cost, if financial aid will cover it, books, etc.)

Also, what do you guys think about creating a private group page on FB so we can keep in touch with other? I don't go on this website a lot. =)

Group FB page sounds great! I scheduled my advisement Aug 22nd~

Hi Everyone!

I am excited to meet all of you 🙂 I just discovered this forum but has someone made a facebook page?

Congratulations! Hmmm to make a facebook group page...don't we all have to add each other on FB?

Congrats courtneyOT! Sent you a private message 🙂

Yeah, I created an FB page, but it's public. It's probably better that we create a private group page, so we can keep in touch and help each other out, yeah? 🙂

Anybody know anything about the 10-week online summer class? My guess is it'll start late May/early June.

Have to pay half of the tuition to register for
The class and half by July 1. You wil
Be given an ID # and instructions about how to access the class online. Class is from May 28 th to Aug 2nd.

Ooh thanks for the info! Did she mention when loans would be disbursed? Because this class would cost at least 3k.

I'm applying to Dominican for the 2014 cohort, along with a couple other Californian schools. What made you guys choose Dominican? Was it the location, reputation, etc?
