Every one this man is one of the best people I came to know on this site.
You are AWESOME Jigabodo, I thank you so much. When you said to me "don't worry you will rock the DAT." that was it for me. I don't know you personally , but I love you so much!!!
Thanks Thanks Thanks😍

Well, If you allow me I am not going to tell you the name of my school, however, I got interviews from 3 schools. Since I got accepted from the firts one, which was my favorite school, I declined other interviews. Afterwards I got 2 calls from two more schools that wanted to talk to me and I let them know that i had already accpted an offer. All of these schools were very good schools, exteremly good.
Here is my 2 cents. I'm not the brightest person on SDN and yet I got many positive feedbacks and interviews. I did average on DAT (on every single subject), and I took it 3 times. Based on my experience schools don't care much about your grades ( ofcourse your grades and DAt scores shouldn't be too off ), as much as they care about your personality, maturity and character. This was what I observed at least. I really don't know about others.
My freindly advice would be go with your heart and gut feelings about what is right and what is not right and you will do fine. Another important experience of mine: the better the school, the more chance of getting in if you had some real reserach done and the less care about DAT. If you have what it takes in all other parts, an average DAT will get you in. Again, these are all based on my experience and they are not written facts. Good luck to you all.

TheWiredNerv, I haven't seen much of you nor jiga on here lately.. not enough action here anymore 😕

I've been too busy with biochem stuff. The way my professor teaches this class makes me question how he became a PhD. I try to check back from time to time though 🙂.

I dunno what Jiga's excuse is 😕?

I've had professors like this. Then I remind myself about the application process for getting a Ph.D and how important having a good mentor is. That might be how he got his.

I'm glad I read this thread. Gave me the boost I need. Just like everyone else I wonder if I'll be good enough but I look at my past and what I've done with my life and I think it shows the work effort I've put in and I hope someone will look at it and say "yeah, this kid can do dental school. He's not the best of the best but he can do it." because that's what the interview is. Just like a job interview.

DAT scores aren't everything at every single school, and you proved it. There were 100+ messages in my inbox asking be about the DAT, and you described it better than I did - gut feeling.

Glad you got in somewhere. When I was accepted at Columbia, I found out that they were more intrigued by my experiences than my DAT scores, so my experiences fall in line with yours. It's good to finally know that you have in a seat in next year's class, eh ? Congratulations - taking the DAT three times requires some stones. Also, don't worry too much about Jigabodo. He's probably just trying to escape immigrations raids in his tenement.
