Just getting my stuff together to submit to AACOMAS before the weekend is over.

These are my stats:
GPA 3.5-3.73 (depending on how they count, I have different GPAs in different colleges)
MCAT 28
Age 26
RN for three years.
I am applying to NOVA, LECOM and MSU and three MD schools. I want to apply to more schools but don't know much. Above all I don't want to pay the money to AACOMAS and AMCAS and find out that those schools really take in state students. What are some good osteopathic schools ?
Thanks

What is your state of residency?
From what I have heard, a lot of people say that PCOM, NYCOM, DMU, TCOM, COMP are probably the most competetive ones (COMP has high average stats but not many people talk about it on here).

After reading your mdapplicants profile, I am guessing you won't have any trouble getting into a florida school. What about Miami? I hear they love people with lots of hands-on clinical experience and give preference to FL residents.

You can add more of the private DO schools. Most of them don't have much preference on where you are from.

I am still applying to three MD programs. USF, U of Miami and Florida State (average MCAT of 26.7).
I really enjoy the osteopathic schools, but I am from the old country and my parents think that it is not medicine. I have to explain to them everytime what a DO is and how they are real doctors. Aghhh ignorance.
At any rate, Albania does not seem to recognize DOs either. While I am not planning on practicing anywhere else but in the US I want to keep my options open. Say my dad has a stroke (God forbit) and needs care for a couple of years. I will need to stay in Albania for at least one year and get him settled. Same thing with my wife's parents. They are getting up in age and it won't be easy to care for them 4000 miles away.
What DO schools lean heavily on in state students.
Finally, I am not even trying to TCOM (Texas). I hear they only take Texas students.
thank you very much for your input.
