hello guys, I have completed my UW with an average of 73% and i got very bad scores in NBME and UWSAs. here is the result

UWSA 2= 510-221
NBME 7 = 460-214
NBME 5 = 430-207
UWSA 1 = 480-214

I found UWSA more harder than the NBMEs. I came to the conclusion that the reason why I got good score in UW bank but not in these exams is because in UW my strong areas which were plenty were masking the effect of weak areas. Whereas in these exams, the number of questions of my strong areas were not enough to mask the weak area effect. and also it's possible that I had more question in my weak areas thus leading to low score compared to UW bank score. I'm very sure my overall knoweldge base is better than these scores but in order for me to get my deserved score i have to hit the weak areas. Guys please dont ignore ur weak areas, it can mean the difference between good score and bad score. I believe the weak areas is what accounts for prediction of different NBMEs and UWSAs and why people get different scores. for example if i had usmle score of 221 i would say UWSA 2 was very predictive when in reality there was less number of qs in my weak areas and thus less effect on the overall score. of course other reasons can account for this but the effect of weak areas is more important. gl

I normally try NOT to be the grammar nazi, but "more harder"?

Were you not going hardcore over the questions you got wrong (and right) in uworld? That is where the money is. Just answering them doesn't really mean much usually.

WOW. Had to come out of lurking just to point out how much of a douche you are for criticizing the grammar of someone who might not even speak English as a first language.

that's right english is not my first language, but even if it was so what? I know a lot of Americans who make so much grammar mistakes. Making grammar mistakes here and there does not make me or others less of a doctor. To be a good doctor you don't have to be grammar expert. Do you know how many doctors in america with accent and poor english skills who are still the top. get real man. am sure you are one of those sick americans who are afraid of FMGs coming here. Remember America is the land of immigrants. It was founded by immigrants and will always accept immgrants. this is what makes america the greatest country in the globe because it wastes no brain because he/she is an immigrant. It's sad that xenophobic people like you are allowed to become doctors in this great country.

👍

On a side note:

When solving qbanks like uworld and kaplan, it's important to not only solve and read explanations for the ones you get wrong, but also the ones you get right as well. It reinforces the concept in your brain, not just the key words.

thank you for sharing your experience.
did you use FA during your study course?
Was 73% of your UW average after first pass through or had you done these questions before too?
What mode did you use UW in (subject wise/random, tutor/untimed or timed)?

actually yes. I forgot my previous password for nomadicdoc but found it and i can use it too. why is that a crime?

well, all i meant was that it was confusing because you started talking in the first person with a different user name.

actually, it is a crime. you can go to jail for 5 years.

lighten up.

you welcome. yes it was the first pass random and timed. very weird right? based on predictions my nbme should be minimum 230. The weak areas according to these exams is similar to what UW bank indicated. Now am working on my weak areas and then I will take another nbme to see if my score jumps. gl

why would it be confusing, it's obvious that it's the same person using different names. I guess if it's a crime then the punishment does not fit the crime because i should be going to jail for more than 5 years. Your judicial system is very weak, you must be a leftist.

it was OBVIOUSLY a joke.

maybe you should stop being defensive and go study.

Well it was you who started. FYI: I don't entertain nonsense jokes so keep it to yourself man. I was just trying to let people know what went wrong in my prep and you came in and started all these nonsense posts. I will focus on my studies and I think you should do the same too. happy studying and gl

i think he's switching posts between his 2 user names so as to get the point across that he's both a warrior doc and a nomadic doc, without having to use a handle that describes both traits, like "genghis_khan_doc", which conveys the message too directly to be artistically desirable, and was probably already taken.
