How small is the pocket sized dictionary, and how much does it weigh? Also, why should one purchase updated versions of these books?

Hi BigEast.

The Dorland's Pocket Dictionary 28th Ed. is 8.5 tall x 5.43 wide and weighs 1.5 lbs.

The regular Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary 32nd Ed. is 8.75 x 11 and weighs over 7 lbs.

The reason to get the new 32nd Edition of Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary would be to ensure that you stay up to date with changing terminology. It is thoroughly updated, with coverage of all medical terms in current usage. Delivers over 5,500 new words, as well as 500 new illustrations to aid your understanding. Also you get a bonus CD-ROM, that you can listen to 35,000 audio pronunciations, and you can consult the entire dictionary online with free access on www.Dorlands.com.
