This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Found this site during class today. Looks like popular culture is finally figuring out what we all already knew to be true :meanie:

in small print, it should say: "90% of them couldn't get into MD programs." I am one of them, so I can say that.

Honestly though, what a self-promoting, piece of crap campaign.

I would be o.k. w/ DO's DO it differently, which of course would show humility. But, that is not Shock value enough for our superficial society.

Lighten up, it's a joke.

Dont you see the sarcasm in those t-shirts...DO's use their hands, and are frequently palpating each others backside...it's not referring to medicine:

DO's do "it" better...DO's do "it" better...get it 😉

Do you think if during the interview your pants were to accidently fall (because your belt was loose 😉), and they see this thing on...would it be a plus...

Wow, lighten up dude. Not everybody has such dry personality as you appear to. Some people can actually take a step back, get some perspective, and enjoy the humor in something like this. It is possible my friend.

If I saw, say a cute nurse at a bar wearing a shirt that said RNs do it better, I most defintely would not approach her and enlighten her on the current admissons standards of nursing school compared to other schools. I would say

"WOW THIS GIRL ACTUALLY HAS A COOL PERSONALITY AND A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR AND IS ACTUALLY PROUD OF WHAT SHE DOES!"

If I saw a cute girl wearing a shirt about 90% of DOs not getting in wherever I would say

"WOW WHAT AN INSECURE, DEPRESSSING, EMO PERSONALITY SHE HAS. THIS GIRL PROBABLY HAS INFERIORITY ISSUES AND IS NOT VERY FUN TO BE AROUND"

not tryin to rag on you dude. your post was probably off the cuff and you probably are a cool person, but come on it's good to have some pride in your work and it's certainly ok to drop the super serious act and have some fun with something like this!!!😉

I'm glad to see you speak for yourself. RE the OP, anyone wearing that shirt would look like a complete tool.

LOL, it says "made in the USA" ... that's just wrong

it sounds like someone needs to increase their fiber intake

Lol, the dog outfit might be a bit much. I just ordered a coffee mug and a bumper sticker.

Great... there's a huge typo on that shirt. Has nobody else noticed it?! There should NOT be an apostrophe after D.O.!

You only use an apostrophe for contractions or possessions, not plurals! That would be like saying "Hot pocket's taste great", or "library's have lots of books". It would be ok to say "That book is the library's", because it indicates that the book is a possession of the library. Geez, way to make D.O.s (note that I didn't use an apostrophe) look smart.

They might as well have said "D.O's be doin it betta"

It may be a joke but you are still likely to make some people (e.g. MDs) very upset by wearing it.
Just a forewarning.

Good. Those that would get upset deserve to be.

We'd only get upset if we thought it were the slightest bit believable. It would be like being Al Gore getting upset with a schizo for forgetting to wrap his head in aluminum foil to keep his thoughts from causing global warming.

I guess it depends on your experiences. I've seen many times where it is in fact true.

Being a bit of a grammar nazi, but it is officially OK to use an apostrophe to make an abbreviation plural. I think it's falling into disuse, though. So not incorrect but just a dated usage. Misuse of apostrophes is a big pet peeve of mine, too. 🙂

Check out info about apostrophes here.

Interesting link. I, too, have always secretly scoffed at using an apostrophe to make something plural. Thanks for the comment. Now I'll have to get off my grammarian high horse.

I got my shirt today. It's surprisingly pretty cool looking. I think I will wear it out to the bar tonight lol😀

The great part is, you still lose because eventually someone's going to ask you to explain your shirt, which ought to be priceless.

This has disaster written all over it.

Northerner:

I'm going to make you a shirt that says, "I ____ ____ for money."

I'm pretty sure we'd all get a big laugh out of that one.

You of all people should know that all man-ho business is drummed up by word of mouth.

Asterisks are funnier than blanks, by the way.
