This is to the DO's out there. How have you faired in the match? Especially when ranking univeristy programs. I know most people get there number 1 or 2 but do DO's usually get there number 1 or 2 on the list? Are there any stats out there?

I spoke to people from my school, they all agreed on how freindly the program is to DO's???. But, the majority matched in 3-5 positions. We will find out in few months. Good luck

Are these DOs matching into university or community programs? I would think matching into community programs is much easier, especially when some DO programs already have affiliations with such hospitals.

common sense 🙄

As far as I know, if you are in the northeast or midwest, your chance, as a DO, to match in a decent University program is very good as long as you have good scores and grades. By looking at the match list for the last 4 years (at my school), I can tell that 70% of the IM programs, were University hospitals. Usually, people who are interested in fellowships go to the University programs and people interested in Primary care go to the community hospitals.

I assume you mean to say that the DOs are matching into community programs mostly?

I suppose I can only speak for myself and I did Med-Peds which is a little different, but if I had wanted to train at a community program there were several osteopathic programs that would have sufficed at least on the IM side (osteopathic pediatric programs at community hospitals were not the training I was looking for and were a big part of the decision to apply to allopathic programs). My guess would be that most DOs matching into allopathic programs are matching into allopathic university programs.
