Double bond vs MP and BP

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Aren't mp and bp properties of multiple molecules? It would depend of the resultant bonding. If db means that you lose h-bonding then it would make the molecules less likely to pack together (more gas vs liquid or solid).

Usually cis double bonds lower melting and boiling points because they prevent the tight packing of fatty acid chains. That is why unsaturated fats have lower mp and bp than saturated. Hope this helps.
