Is a double major looked upon more favorably? Does it increase your chances of admission?

It makes absolutely no difference if you double major. Look at the stats in the latest MSAR.

Unless you really just LOVE 2 different fields, I would not do the double major and instead put that energy into healthcare work, extracurriculars, etc.

That would help you out alot more in the long run.
