Doubts

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Almost everyone has doubts, either before school starts or shortly thereafter. You are going to get into classes and realize that almost everyone is bright, something that CANNOT be said about undergrad. The AMOUNT of information you will be required to process and retain will likely be more intense than anything you have experienced thus far, but YOU CAN DO IT! So can anyone that gets accepted, and this goes for plenty of people that did not get accepted this time around. The folks who do the best at my school are a mix between the awfully smart and those that work hard. It seems that those who work hard outnumber the more gifted students at the top (although it should be noted that even the really smart ones need to work hard in order to make the top grades). You will need to do the work, but rest assured that you have the ABILITY to succeed, and will do just fine (maybe even a whole lot better than "just fine"). Go out and enjoy yourself until school starts. Best of Luck!

As the start of medical school draws closer I am starting to get nervous. Is anyone having doubts in their ability to succeed? :scared:

You're a studly applicant. I think you will have no problems whatsoever. 👍

Of course I have doubts, and watching Discovery Health doesn't help :scared:, but I am more excited than anything. That excitement overpowers the doubt. 😀

Hey, I am starting to get nervous...because I want to be absolutely sure I am ready for this phase of my life...but that is just natural...I just remember that despite all the obstacles I have faced...I have made it to medical school and I know I won't except anything less then the best from myself. I have gotten into LECOM and I have my last interview next Friday at Drexel...Currently Drexel is my top choice. I just tell myself to take a day at a time and just breathe...lol

I'm not. . and I would bet that you don't need to worry! 😀 Especially after looking at your mdapplicants profile! I look at it this way. . . when you start high school, everyone tells you how much harder it's going to be. Then you start college and everyone tells you now that's going to be hard! They are harder, but did that stop you from kicking butt all along? No way!

Congrats on your acceptance at Rochester, Zeke.

It must feel incredible to know where you're going! Once my mind's made up, I'm sure I'll be a little nervous about this myself! But we're gonna be learning and doing some amazing stuff! Good Luck!

No. To do so would be way too human.

"do what you must
say all you can
break all the f%$&ing rules
and go to hell with superman
and die like a champion"

I love how positively encouraging this thread is. Just reading this thread made me feel more confident about medical school. I love being inspired.

I know that's what you meant exmike  . Come to think of it, you're pretty studly yourself...speaking academically of course!

Get a room you two!!! An academic room, of course.
