anyone have thoughts on either school, reputation, student happiness, etc?

besides the money factor, which is obvious...

hi pra,
I'm going to Downstate next year, so biases aside, I was also choosing between a higher priced school. What I found out about Downstate. Was H/HP/P/F cirriculum. Lectures are alright, but nothing to scream at. Clinical years are amazing, becuase of independent learning at the local Kings County Hospital. It really depends on your style, Downstate will save you tons of money, tuition is 17K, is in NYC and has a good match with NYC hospitals. In terms of rep, Downstate isn't known for their bedside manner, nor their research. Instead people who come out are damn good at the basics, and know how to take of their patient by themselves. It's an urban environment, also so take that into consideration.

Btw, I rejected AECOM (NY) for Downstate, because in the end the tuition difference wasn't worth the reputation difference. I don't know too much about Boston U, but I'll leave it up to you to fill in the rest. G'luck with deciding, and hope to see you at Downstate next year.
