When and how often are Doximity rankings updated?
I think they put out rankings yearly...but their information is notoriously outdated.When and how often are Doximity rankings updated?
They're not the end all be all of rankings. I think for residency, the rankings might get the overall large classes of programs right (e.g., Harvard in the top tier for many specialties) but the granularity isn't there. I guess the USNWR for med school rankings isn't that granular either but for residency, it's probably even less granular than that. The best way to get a sense of tier of program is to talk to residents and attendings. Each program is unique in its own way and it's hard to collapse all of those aspects into a unidimensional measure. For instance, if you care about operative experience, that isn't explicitly measured and isn't obvious until you talk to people who have worked with people coming out of those programs.
It may very well be but they’re not updating every program accurately. Some programs I looked at didn’t even have the PD updated and the feeder schools is wrong as were the board certified percentage. It’s only value is perhaps having a general gestalt about general tiers but once you educate yourself on that for 5 minutes and try to get granular, their site becomes useless.Just wondering because it seems like Doximity is updated once or twice a year..
Why?Doximity rankings are like us news and world report, only worse;
Residency programs In whatever specialty solicit votes from their alums; the more aggressive they are in soliciting, the higher the visibility and ergo, rank, of the program. unfortunately these ranking systems appear to have more and more influence.
