doxycycline for a sinus infection???

i have a sinus infection that is giving me a bad headache and making me feel dizzy. i am not that snotty, and my snot is clear. my doctor prescribed me doxycycline but its making me feel very sick and giving me the craps terribly. is there another drug i can take that isnt as strong??? i read on the internet that doxycycline is used for pneumonia.

You should talk to your doctor aout it. I usually prescribe things like Levaquin, Bactrim, or Zithromax for sinusitis, but those pts usually have green or yellow snot. He may be using doxy for a different reason. Talk to him about it.

Doxy is great for sinususitis too. But you HAVE to take it on a full stomach. Otherwise your stomach will feel like a bomb went off in it. Why didn't you ask your MD these questions. This really isn't a place for medical advice.
