Barry does NOT have a DPM/DO duel degree. Not to beat a dead horse, but do a search on these forums as its been discussed a lot.
Nova Southeastern Univeristy in Davie (Fort Lauderdale) Florida offers a DO degree to DPM's who completed a 2 year PM and S residency. I believe they take 2 pods a year. With this option, you can only get board certified in forefoot surgery and not rearfoot/ankle (you would need a 3 year PM and S to do this). Honestly, I would rather just do a 3 year PM and S and then maybe a fellowship in limb salvage, surgery, etc. A lot of people on these forums wonder about the necessity and purpose of a DPM/DO degree. It's not like you are going to be doing knee, hip, etc surgery with the DO added on. In the long run, we are still going to be foot and ankle specialists.
