Does anyone know his email address? The only one I can find is at Imperial University, and he has not replied to that, so I am not sure if I have the correct email.

I'm still confused. Are you planning on working with him? Is he at your hospital?

It's usually tough to just randomly email an attending out of the blue, otherwise.

Another question, correct me if I'm wrong: Don't British surgeons HATE being called "Dr.", and go by "Mr." instead?

Right now, I am studying abroad in England. I emailed the attending I did research with/shadowed with last summer, and he told me to contact this guy, and mention that he (the guy I worked with) wanted me to observe at his Heart Institute.

So yes, im planning on working with him (or rather one of his underlings, because as I understand, he doesnt operate anymore)

Yes.

PLEASE don't call a British surgeon "Dr." 😱

Back to the OP's question - you could ask your mentor how to best contact him. Yacoub's stopped operating in 2001 but probably still has an office somewhere. It's otherwise going to be tough to just cold-call him out of the blue.

Best of luck.

blade, how do you not know who sir majid yacob is? all CT surgeons/trainees know him... who do you think the yacob proceudre is named after? now you know...

P.S: most of the surgeons in england that i work with dont mind being called dr but still use Mr out of tradition... as most of them will say, you're a doctor first and a surgeon second.

Now I know. 🙂 I've heard of the Yacoub procedure, just haven't seen it in person yet.
