When did you apply? I just got confirmation that they received my application

Hi, I will be attendance on 9/13! I applied early in July and they said they received my application on August 1. They invited me last week to which I accepted.

Ah okay. I applied early July but didn’t get confirmation until today, so hopefully I’ll be hearing from them soon!

Good luck, all. I will post any updates and answer any questions afterwards if anyone is interested.

Application complete on July 25, Interview invite on Aug 29th (but final LOR writer didn't submit letter until Aug 8, so that could have affected interview timeline). Will be there Oct 7th bc Sept dates were full or conflicted with work schedule.

Hi all! Jumping on here late but I'll be interviewing September 27th. Application and all materials received September 3rd, interview invite received the next day!

Hi everyone! I'm interviewing September 27th as well. My applications materials were verified on 9/9 and I received an interview that day! Any tips for interview day?

It's a really chill interview day! You get an info session, a tour, a Q/A with current students without any faculty around so thats nice, and a formal interview. It was my first PT school interview ever so I was nervous, but don't be! They make you feel welcome. Just make sure you are pleasant, smiling, and professional from the minute you step foot into the building, not just during the interview! You'll be great

Thanks so much, this is a big relief. How was the one-on-one interview? I've only had two group interviews so far, so I'm unsure of what to expect going in. Definitely excited for Friday though!

Hi, all. I was accepted last night so I will give you a quick run down about my process.

Applied: Around 7/10?
Interviewed: 9/13
Accepted: 9/24

I applied early admission, so that probably has something to do with what I heard before the 9/25 deadline. Feel free to ask me any particular questions about applying, the interview day, or Drexel/Philly and I will do my best to answer.

How was the one-on-one interview? I've only had group interviews so far so I'm just a little nervous for that portion. Drexel is my #1 so I'm hoping the day goes well!

So, the whole day was actually pretty awesome. I applied early decision for a few reasons, but after the first hour, I knew I made a good choice putting all my eggs in one basket.

The interview is basically like any low-key job interview that I could imagine, but not hard-hitting in any way shape or form. You will either interview with an alum, professor, or someone else connected to the program in some way shape or form. Personally, it felt very conversational and the 45 minutes flew by. I feel like I learned more about the person who was interviewing me than she did about me probably.

My only advice would be to relax, enjoy the day, learn about the program, ask the fun questions of the students who they give you some time with, and be prepared for the most basic of PT school questions (Why PT? What about the field do you like/dislike/surprised by? Why not OT/PA/Nursing? Strengths/Weaknesses? Why Drexel?).

Feel free to message me if ya feel the need.

Wow thank you so much!! Did any questions catch you by surprise?

Honestly, the hardest part was when she asked if I had any questions. I came prepared with 2-3, but they were answered in the very thorough brief and discussion with current students. Mine (and I heard my groups) were all pretty basic and had no gotcha questions.

Hi! Just wanted to pop back on here and say the day went really well! The interview was a breeze; It was extremely conversational and the time flew by! Plus I was still just as in love with the program as I was when I visited a few months prior for an Open House.
Although, I won't lie, I was (and still am) a little nervous because myself and about 5 other people weren't on the list of names at check-in. We all had received confirmation emails about 3 weeks prior to the date of the interview, so we were a little confused as to why this happened, because I had heard of other people who received interview invites later than we did, but had no issues checking in. They got folders together for us and name-tags, but I was a little disheartened at the beginning of the day before everything else kicked off.
Are you aware of this happening at your interview day at all, by chance?

Yup, it happened to a couple of people in my group, as well. Their normal person is being removed from this process so they are having a transition period with this sort of stuff. I wouldn't worry about it.

I just got my email for my acceptance just about an hour ago! Wow, congrats to all of you! So exciting

Congratulations, all! I got in just at the early admissions deadline and still haven't gotten the second email concerning enrollment management and whatnot, which I assume would have the deposit information and other requirements. If anyone gets that any time soon, I would love to know!

Besides CatDad who is ED, is anyone else going to decide on Drexel? Or is everyone waiting to hear from other schools? It's my #1, so there's a 99.9% chance I'll be placing my deposit ASAP once they send that information out from Enrollment.

MD/PhD II this morning!! 🙂 Very excited about this one!

Congrats and good luck. However, I think you accidentally stumbled into the PT forum and not the MD/DO forums! Anyways, best of luck to ya, Philly is pretty cool and I've enjoyed my time dealing with anything Drexel related.

Keep fighting the good fight!

Oops haha thanks anyways! Sorry to intrude on this forum 😉

Hi all! I was also accepted to Drexel on 10/9 and am 99% sure I will be choosing them. Has anyone gotten information regarding their deposit or confirming enrollment?

Not yet! I’m hoping we’ll be getting emails soon about it. I also plan on enrolling! 🙂

How did those who are committed to enrolling to Drexel make their decision? I've been accepted and I'm waiting to hear back from a few other schools as well but I'm having a tough time deciding which school is right for me (I loved Drexel during my interview day).

im in same boat, im still weighing other options, but drexel is the front runner. I think because my interview day went so well, plus i toured the city the night before to get a feel, and envisioned myself there. The campus tour also, they may not have the nicest facilities but for that same reason i think will make me an even better therapist by having to be creative and adapt. The curriculum being more spaced out and the fact that students still have a balanced lifestyle is what is persuading me. I try to picture myself being in such an area or how i will adapt for 3 years and i can definitely see myself at drexel. The faculty also was very welcoming because even after i had the same incident where my name was not on the check in list, i still felt accommodated for.

I went to an Open House in the summer and fell in love with it then and haven't really looked back! The faculty seem engaged, interesting, and seemed to have a good relationship with the students. I like the way Drexel's program is arranged compared to other programs and the fact that there are multiple on-campus clinics to be involved in throughout your career there. At the interview day (despite also being left off the list), they were incredibly accommodating! I really enjoyed my one-on-one interview and the students seemed very transparent and honest, yet had nothing but wonderful things to say about the program, commuting (which is what I plan to do, they made it seem like a lot of students make it work). The price-point with scholarships was a plus for me too, as it is competitive for other schools in the area but made it cheaper with the scholarship I was offered. Also, the location in the heart of Center City is perfect, as I was hoping to be in the city for school!
I can really envision myself there and only really got that feeling at one other school, but the price was outrageous. I hope this is helpful! 🙂

I was initially drawn to the school due to their graduation and exam pass rates. I want to be in a place where it seems like we are working together as a team to succeed, not competition. Also, they are a full Yellow Ribbon Program school, which means it is free for veterans. They have other perks that make them seem very veteran-friendly, which is nice, since don't want my VA benefits getting in administrative limbo. Even without that, I would consider the school due to the fact that they gave out a nice hefty scholarship, which apparently is common for them. Being in Philadelphia is a big plus for me. I have moved around way too much in my life so I am looking for a place that I like enough to stay and I think I'll like Philly.

All in all, my lease ends before the summer where I am now, so I am very excited to move a couple of months early, find a summer gig, then start back up in school!

I will, obviously, be paying my deposit as soon as they email me the information, and I already got some of my titers/vaccines done so I am ready to give them that form, as well, after my planned physical. I think we need to have AHA BLS certification, too.

Yeah, I got the email to login to your application/financial aid package/etc. to confirm acceptance and whatnot, if you are planning on going.

When's the last time to hear back about an II?

Not totally sure, but a little snooping online gave me some dates. Drexel's PTCAS page says that "applicants deemed competitive will be invited to interview on between September and December."

Drexel's DPT website says all this:

"Regular Decision Application Deadline: December 2, 2019
Program Start Date: September 21, 2020
To be considered eligible for review, a verified PTCAS application and all supporting materials must be received by the application deadline. Please note that the PTCAS verification process can take about 4-6 weeks.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the class is filled. Qualified applicants will be invited to campus for an admissions interview in the fall. Applicants who submit by the October 1st deadline will receive a decision (invitation for an interview, hold for additional grades, pre-interview waitlist, or denied admission) by December 1st."

So, they seem slightly different, but I would guess they would plan their last interviews before the new year. However, if I had to guess, I would imagine that leaks into January sometimes, especially if they have a regular decision deadline of December 1.

Just got the email i'm on hold for re-review today. Is this the silent ax?

Hm that’s strange. The only thing I’ve heard from them was last week and that I was put on the pre interview hold. Not really sure what your email would mean

I was put on a "pre-interview waitlist". I already committed elsewhere but was wondering what they meant by this

"After reviewing your materials, the Admissions Committee has elected to hold your application. While we have decided not to invite you for an interview at this time, we would like to re-evaluate your application later in the year. Should you be invited for an interview, you will receive an email. "

This was the email I received ^^ not sure if the same or different from you all on pre-interview hold/waitlist
