Drexel Acceptances?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I interviewed about 10 days ago. My status page still says I have an interview scheduled and if I have attended the interview it will be about 6 to 8 weeks before any answer. I gather that isn't the case but can someone tell me if I am looking in the right place and what will change next and when should something change. Am I in the right place??? 😕😕

How come some people who interviewed back in December have this status:

"Interview scheduled..blah.blah wait 6 to 8 weeks"

whereas,

some people who just interviewed in early Feb have:

"Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University."

any thoughts?

Just wanted to add in:

Interviewed on 1/10, changed to "final decision made" on 3/7.

The wait for this letter is horrible and its only been less than a week and from what I've seen on here it can take up to 4.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't some people who had a "final decision has been made" say they called Drexel and had them fax over the decision? I think you might be able to do that if you can't bear the wait any longer.

I interviewed on 1/14 and my status still says my application is under review by the admissions committee. Anyone know when Drexel's adcom meetings are? thanks.

They meet on Thursdays. Your status online will be updated by Friday afternoon. Good luck!

Thanks Lshapley I really appreciate it. Best of luck to you as well.

I interviewed at Drexel on Dec. 10 and received notice that a final decision had been made on Jan. 8th.

It wasn't until Feb. 19th that I received my letter in the mail. It was an accpetance so perhaps good things come to those who wait!

Best of luck to all of you stalking your mailbox!

I also interviewed on 12/10. My notice that a final decision has been made only came up last week (I saw it on 3/4, but it may have been made a few days earlier). Still waiting for the letter though...

I've been waiting longer.....I interviewed Dec 1st. My status page changed a while back to your file has been sent to the admission committee. Not even an email notification since then. ?? weird😡

I was very surprised today when I saw an acceptance package in my mailbox from Drexel Med. :hardy::hardy:👍:hardy::hardy:
I say this because I interviewed rather late on Feb 6th (complete in December). They had told us it would take at least 8 weeks to hear back and judging from this thread it seemed correct. I actually checked online the first time this week, on tuesday, and my status had changed to decision made but I was still expecting a long wait from that.
Anyways, I just wanted to share my experience with those waiting and wish you the best of luck :luck::luck:.

i also got accepted today! I thought it would be a rejection because everyone who was accepted seemed to have waited forever for it. Anyway, I got it quick, about 7 weeks. Congrats to all who have been accepted, and gluck to those who are waiting!

i'm sure this has been addressed, but does anyone know when the waitlist will start to move, if ever?

thanks! 👍

Did you interview the same day I did?
congrats btw.

Congrats to those who recently got accepted!!

Question for any anyone accepted to Drexel:

How long did you status say something like.. Your file is being reviewed by a committee member and will go to the admissions committee shortly?

Mine has said that for a couple weeks now and isn't changing!!

I honestly do not know. My interview was on Feb 6th. The week after I checked and it said that my app was being reviewed. Finally, I checked this week, on Tue, and it said that a decision had been made and letter mailed. The letter was dated March 5th and I got it today March 14th. Hope this helps some and best of luck.

Interviewed on 2/8 and my message finally changed to:

"Your file is currently under review by the admissions committee. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel of University. "

yea...the typo is still there

...and the waiting continues...

Here's an update from where I was before...
Interviewed: 2/8; "review by admissions committee": 3/4; final decision: "3/14"

...now it's time to wait for the snail mail...😕

You guys all interviewed about 3 weeks after me and already have a final decision. I still have the "under review by the admissions committee" message. This wait is not fun at all and I'm starting to feel like they forgot about me.

Anyone else get a really rude person answering the phones when you called? I was told in an interview that a decision would take 6-8 weeks, but haven't had my status page change from the "interview" page yet. I mean obviously if they were taking people in order that they interviewed, they must have looked at it if other people who interviewed later have gotten accepted.

I totally understand that it must suck having 1000 people call every day asking the same questions, but at least pretend to have a little sympathy if I call you because you've left me hanging. Even an auto-generated e-mail at 8 weeks that explained that things were taking a little bit longer than expected would be nice.

I'm sorry that your status hasn't changed yet...this wait is definitely not fun🙁 After reading someone who didn't get their letter until 6 weeks after their final decision notice it kinda makes you wonder if all these updates are really helping or hurting?!😕 In any case, good luck with everything and hang in there🙂

Who's attending the second look on april 5th?

I finally got a status change this morning saying that my app is now being reviewed by the admissions committee! now for the wait for a final decision to be made..:scared:

Ya there are a few people answering the phones. I've talked with one male and one female. The male seems to hate any question you have regarding your application while the woman, Wanda, is quite nice and helpful. I've been having some problems with my application for a while and every time I call in I pray that I get to talk to Wanda.

Any chance you might know when Wanda is in? I've called before and gotten the man and he wasn't extremely helpful more blunt with his answer, kind of expected since Drexel seems to interview a huge amount of people and if even a third call thats a good amount. Thinking about calling about the final decision letter since I don't have a fax to ask them to send it to, like others suggested.

Good luck everyone.

Has anyone received any info regarding the second look?

I was accepted about a month ago and received a letter of receipt for my deposit, but have yet to get any info about the April 5th reception.

Does anyone have any of the details or schedule of events?

Thanks!

i am....do people normally bring others to this such as parents or significant others?

or do most people fly solo so they can meet others?

I heard from some 2nd years that they just went solo, which is what I'm planning to do for the 5th, I might bring the significant other to the reception since he's a student there anyway and will be around. No way am I brining the parents!!!!!!!mine are a little "interesting", but if yours can handle it by all means bring them along.
Congrats to all the acceptances and looking forward to meeting all of you!

status change to decision has been made! finally! after 9 long weeks of waiting...now i get to play the waiting game til next week, and receive a fax with my fate...ahhh!!

My status also changed to "decision made" today. My interview was on 1/25. I guess now i will be anxiously checking the mail everyday.

I interviewed 2 weeks before you guys and my status hasn't changed. Anyone in the same boat is me and/or know what the deal is? It's like waking up on Christmas everyday and finding nothing under the tree. Good luck to you guys who are waiting for your decision to arrive.

I think I'm in a similar boat as you. I interviewed January 16th and still have the 6-8 weeks blah blah blah. I have no idea whats going on. I called for the first time a few days ago, and the guy told me whatever the status page says is the most up-to-date info. I really dont know what to think. I thought my interviews went well...was hoping for an acceptance...i'm starting to think I am waitlist material... 🙁

I wouldn't say that. Apparently a few people who posted earlier said they waited around 3 months and were accepted. So don't count yourself out so fast. I just don't get how they order the applicant files at the adcom meetings....but I hope I'm in next weeks batch....

Thanks for the pep talk. However, I'm starting to think of making plans for next cycle. Though I'm still very much in the game for this cycle. Just gotta put my head down and keep grinding. I just cant wait to get on even ground with everyone again...it's been an uphill battle the past few years...

I'm a re-applicant this year and have been getting a little more love from schools this cycle (did an SMP). Yet, still no acceptances. I still have a plan for next cycle if it doesn't work out. But again, thanks for the optimism. I tend to cycle in and out of being optimistic. Good luck!:luck:

I interviewed Jan 16th also...and take comfort in the fact that they do not have any order in terms of who they review when...my friend interviewed the 17th and found out 3 weeks ago...so i dont think there is any correlation between how long they take and what your decision will be...just keep reminding yourselves of all the good things about your apps...thats how i keep sane 😀

I interviewed on November 16, 2007 and FINALLY on March 24 it says a descision has been maid and mailed. Longest wait ever and now i have another week or two of sitting by the mail box 😀.

congrats bawer! is this your first status change post-interview? or did your status say " a member of the admission committee is reviewing" then "the admissions committee is currently reviewing your application" then finally "a decision has been made"?

Actually yes, but b4 "A decision has been made" I recieved "We still require some information from you. You will be contacted" and that lasted for about 5-6 weeks. Apparently one of my interviewers didn't submit their evaluation or something.

So I interviewed on 02/25, and my status changed to "a decision has been made and has been mailed out" last week...so does that mean I should expect 1-2 weeks or another month?

Jane,

Stress??? I know what stress is like! THIS WEEK I was told by my admissions committee member that I was going to be a great fit and that he was excited that I was starting medical school. Sounded Great!

BUT THEN... he sends me another letter stating that he had mistaken me for someone else with the same first name!!! OMG! I thought... "You have got to be kidding me!" Good thing I wasn't on the phone calling everyone I knew out of sheer excitement.

So now I am left to wait with everyone else... AGAIN!

just wondering, did anyone go from the "an interview has been scheduled" page right to having the site show that a decision has been made?

I interviewed in the middle of Jan and haven't had even a sniff of an update. I've got other acceptances but was really impressed by Drexel, and want to either know I'm going there so I can start robbing banks to pay for it, or I need to get on with my life

For those of you have have statuses other then "A decision has been made..." What shows up on your Application Summary when you go to view your status? I am still waiting for a final decision and mine says Intdept Foundations of Med. under Major Concentration. I was wondering why it already says that already and if it shows up for everybody as a default.

Mine looks like this:

Level: Medicine Program: Doctor of Medicine Catalog Term: Fall Semester 08-09 College: College of Medicine Campus: Queen Lane Major and Department: Medicine, Integrated Curriculum Major Concentration: Intdept. Foundations of Med.

I am curious too. Mine says the same thing.

Apologies if this is redundant (I haven't read this whole thread) but you should all know that Drexel is willing to fax your decision if you ask them to once a decision has been made. They won't email, fax only. What's the difference between faxing and emailing--aside from inclusiveness and ten years of technology--you ask? No clue; seems like a silly/frustrating policy to me. But good luck and I hope you aren't waiting much longer!

Everyone is defaulted into the IFM curriculum (whether youre accepted or not). If you want to be put into the PIL program after youve been accepted you have to fill out a piece of paper that comes with your acceptance packet.

That list you copy and pasted shows the program that youre currently applying for.

Well, there goes my hopes for finding clues to the decision. Maybe I will start hunting for a fax machine.

My status page reads just like yours does. I interviewed in late February and just changed to a "member of the committee" message. I'm not optimistic. Any other year I would have had no problem but this year has become completely unpredictable, What are your stats? (Will you share?)

Where do you want to go? Good luck. It will be over soon.:luck::luck::luck:

Hello All,
Well, I finally got my decision letter...and I've been waitlisted...again😳

Here's a breakdown of my timeline/decision page updates:
Interviewed: 2/8
"review by admissions committee": 3/4
final decision: 3/14
received waitlist letter: 3/27

Don't know if this helps anyone, but good luck to you all with the whole process and hang in there🙂...I know the waiting isn't fun

I withdrew from the waitlist yesterday, so hopefully that will help out one of you that is waiting. FYI, my status said that I was IFM also.

I'm Sorry to hear about the waitlist Nyc. Did you have the status "a member of the admissions committe is reviewing your application and will be sent to the admissions committee shortly"? Has anyone been waitlisted who was above drexel's mcat/gpa averages? I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of movement come may 15.
