Drexel DPMS 2014-15

I know how you all feel, maybe FutureDoctor008 is right, it probably changes when you have been invited or the link appears when they have reached a decision on your application. I would say since the application closed about 2 or so weeks ago, maybe there would be more invites..
Agreed. Its only been about a week since the deadline passed and regardless of what the website says( or doesn't say) we all still have to wait until they contact us.

The program starts in June. Toward the end of the month. You start off with the summer enrichment.Does this program start in June or July? Or August? haha.

Mid AprilAprilI'm interviewing on that day, too! I was complete mid-March.
Interviewing May 21st..
Use this time to prep just in case. Practice your responses to open-ended questions and now that you will have 2 faculty interviewing you it's even more important to know your app inside and out. If you app shows a lot of exposure and volunteer but is lacking on the WHY of specifically wanting to be a doctor then you better revisit that so you can be clear on your interview. Keep responses to the point.
The office, so everyone knows, doesn't go in order of completion (so someone complete in December can be reviewed later with someone that was complete in april for example), but they will review everyone's apps to see if they merit a consideration to the med school if completed by the deadline. So, better to be waiting for that invite than hearing that rejection early on. There's still plenty of time left. Enjoy your break and freedom while you can!!
All the best.

I hope they will release more interviews. Im nervous because last years thread there was a wave of invites and then nobody really posted they got an interview invite after the initial wave early may. Keeping fingers crossed.
You'll find out soon enough in the program that people are still on the lookout for themselves despite initial summer bonding, and there is plenty of gossiping. Hopefully your class will be more willing and open to help each other out including pre-interviews on here. Interviews will be slow for the moment because graduation is occurring in 2 weeks. Med school is busy with that.
I asked for the May 13th interview date. Never been more nervous in my life.
Do they tell you when they have rejected you ( aka when they aren't going to give you an interview)?

I just pm'd youDo I prepare for this interview the way I would any other medical school interview? Anybody out there familiar with the interview format?
And yes you do. It basically is your med school interviewDo I prepare for this interview the way I would any other medical school interview? Anybody out there familiar with the interview format?
I just got an interview invite by e-mail. Can somebody familiar with the program give me advice on the interview?
Thanks.
I've written plenty on this, how to prep, sample questions, and what to expect on previous posts on here. Check them out. Congrats!!
Can someone let me know about this too?Do I prepare for this interview the way I would any other medical school interview? Anybody out there familiar with the interview format?

What exactly are you looking for regarding information on the interview format? http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/drexel-dpms-2014-15.1048239/page-5
I and senoritalolita (who recently had interview) wrote of the format so not sure what you're missing/asking.
As mentioned before...this IS your MED school interview. It's done by med school faculty/clinicians/researchers either at school or the hospital.
http://advising.colorado.edu/sites/default/files/Med_100 intquest.pdf is a good start to understand yourself. Be able to answer concise, accurately, and without going on tangents. Practice w/ someone face to face. Mock- I'll critique an interview if I can fit it in my schedule.
To those that are already prepping that I've spoken to you're doing great and you're on your way to be DOCTORS!! Stay positive and keep the faith!
Thank you for the reply's. I also have a few questions about the tuition and program structure.
I see that the first year closely "mimics" the first year medical curriculum, with a few graduate level courses. Now this is where I am hazy, completing the year gives you a certificate and completing the year with a GPA >3.0 means you matriculate into the medical school, as a 2nd year? Or you repeat the courses?
I also thought I saw tuition differences between DPMS and actual medial school.

dpms= drexel PATHWAY to medical school, ie, you're not in med school when you're in the dpms program. You're NOT a first year medical student when you finish b/c you are not taking the full 1st year curriculum. Your classes are not at the medical school. To be specific- you MUST complete EACH of the courses with an average greater than the average of the med students AND meet the mcat minimum breakdown. You could get a 'D' in anatomy and straight 'A's' in all your other classes w/ a gpa that avergages >3.0 BUT you wouldn't have met the criteria to matriculate to med school. When you finish the program w/ all requirements you now have the chance of being a FIRST year medical student from SCRATCH. You repeat the courses unless you elect to opt out of them--NOT advised b/c you need to do more than just pass medical school & it impacts your future career as well-- all which are beyond this topic. dpms is more of a preview for the entire year to get you at the level you need to be.
sum: meet all requirements= you get to be a FIRST YR MED student & by all intents you retake all med school courses again.

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know when the program starts exactly and what the Summer Enrichment program consists of? If we have a previous commitment during the time of the Summer Enrichment Program is it possible to arrive 2 weeks late? I am obviously very serious about the program and would cancel the previous commitment and drop everything for the program. I was just wondering.
Thank you guys for your help, these threads are really great.

Are they possibly still sending out interview invites?

Are they possibly still sending out interview invites? My states were 3.6 gpa, 26 mcat (9/9/8); complete on April 25th. Am I overqualified?
I was wondering the same thing. I was complete mid-march and haven't heard a thing.
It starts on June 22 and I don't think you can arrive late but I'm not sure.

Hi Artrish07, the first thing we did was a essay prompt. You have 30 minutes to write your answer. Afterwards the director of the program came to talk to us and answer any questions we had. I had my interview at 11:30. Then everyone had lunch with current med students who were in DPMS. And finally there was a short tour. Good luck on the 21st!Hello @Raegal is there anything you can tell us about the interview ? And I also will be interviewing on the 21st !

Does anyone know if there are any additional interview dates (besides May 21st) and if interview invites are still being received? Thank you!

You CAN'T show up 2 weeks late. you go through so much material so quickly and you'll be missing out on the program from the get go. 1 or 2 days is different but those are for extenuating circumstances that you need to talk directly w/ the office to clear. 2 weeks would be unacceptable.
Does anyone know if there are any additional interview dates (besides May 21st) and if interview invites are still being received? Thank you!
Yes to both.

Hi! How tough was it for you to maintain the 3.0? Were a lot of people in the program able to meet this requirement and matriculate into DUCOM (if they got the MCAT score)?
